Opening Event: Ian Kemp & Tamara Dean
Horsham Regional Art Gallery would like to invite you to the opening of two exhibitions:
IAN KEMP: NEVERLASTING
AND
TAMARA DEAN: LEAVE ONLY FOOTPRINTS
Friday 13th September at 5.30pm
Ian Kemp: Neverlasting. Kemp’s remarkable photography masterfully captures nature’s beauty and vastness and simultaneously, the comparative inconsequence of individual human lives. Using nature as metaphor, the works in this exhibition depict a world in transition, where beauty is ephemeral and temporary. These are not travel photographs; within these images, he explores his subject, the impermanence of human life.
Tamara Dean: Leave only footprints. This is a Museum of Australian Photography (MAPh) touring exhibition. Tamara Dean: Leave only footprints spans over 11 key bodies of work that explore transitional moments in our lives – rites of passage, rituals and motherhood – and is underpinned by the artist’s longing and desire to be within and to protect nature. This immersive exhibition incorporates scent, photography, installation and the moving image to create an environment that engages the senses.
Food and drink will be served at this event.
Opened by exhibiting artist Ian Kemp & Senior Curator MAPh, Angela Connor
Free event but bookings are essential
