ART CLUB – Juniors (Term 2)

19 April-  7 June, Tuesdays for 8 weeks, 4 – 5.30pm.

An after school program for 7 – 11 year olds to explore a range of art making techniques and skills while having fun.  This structured program will see participants work toward a display presented within the Horsham Town Hall Foyer.

ART CLUB – Teens (Term 2)
20 April – 8 June, Wednesdays for 8 weeks, 4 – 5.30pm

An after school program for 12 – 16 year olds interested in art, design and photography. Learn new skills and experiment with different mediums and materials.

VCE Life Drawing
12 – 26 May, Fridays for 3 weeks 5 – 7pm

Students from Years 10 – VCE have the opportunity to work with professional practicing artists to explore different approaches to life drawing, improve observational drawing skills and develop a folio of drawings. Teachers are also encouraged to attend.

SEE MAKE DO
Explore an Abstract Landscape
14 – 24 June

Enhanced gallery visits for schools or kindergartens with activities that meet the Victorian Curriculum Standards. Students investigate the ways artists have represented landscape in a variety of works in the gallery collection and our current exhibitions.

Using the work of John Olsen as inspiration, they will develop a landscape of an imaginary journey somewhere in Australia. Students explore the concept of viewpoints, random and accidental mark making and painting techniques to create their own “mad map”. Available for school bookings except on Mondays. Session times run between 1 – 1 1/2 hours

GIFTED and TALENTED PROGRAM

Expressions of interest are being taken for this program for students in Years 10 and 11 who are interested in developing their skills and knowledge in digital photography and editing, developing a body of artworks, writing for a purpose, exhibition and graphic design.

Participants will work with mentors employed professionally in the arts industry and have an exhibition at the Horsham Regional Art Gallery. Participants will need to commit to afterschool workshops once a week for the duration of Term 3. Supported by the Department of Education Strategic Partnerships Program.

Looking for something creative to do in the school holidays? Programs will be offered for our youngest art makers up until Year 10. Join in for some fun art making activities at the gallery!
