The Mann Collection of Wildlife Art

Steve Morvell, Brett Jarrett, Pete Marshall, Michael Munday, Nicholas Pike, Robert Mancini, Janet Flinn, Robert Ulmann, Annette Taylor

Australian wildlife offers an abundance of subjects and leads artists into extreme locations. Working directly from life is all-important with much of their work done in the field. Join us we traverse the Australian bushland to find koalas and platypus, and go beyond our shores to the African plains to find white rhino and cheetahs, and the Americas to find buffalo.

As collectors of wildlife art for over twenty years, Bill and Maureen Mann built up an exquisite collection that revealed their deep appreciation for Australia and Africa’s unique fauna. It was also the beginning of a keen interest in the careers of many wildlife artists; a relationship that would grow from a genuine fascination to admiration of artists whose ability could convey the character of any bird or animal.

We shared this passion with the wider community through a series of drawing workshops with Steve Morvell. Mary Dodds, Ralph Kenyon, Claire McKenry, Sophie Flood, Carolyn Bilson, Wendy Hewitt, Kerryn Rhodes, Josephine Perry, Christine Umbers, Helen Dooley, Peter Pickering, Jenny Savron, Shirley Mackenzie, Colin Harper and Kay Wakefield share with us their outcomes
