Diversity Day 2017

Diversity Day will be a family-friendly day of free entertainment and food celebrating the cultural richness of the Wimmera.  Diversity Day will include:

Scarf Stories: Why is the Hijab in the headlines?
Special guest, Dr Tooba Mollah, will be discussing the Hijab as an example of cultural expression.  Dr Mollah pioneered wearing the Hijab in Horsham in 2007 and will be looking at the personal story behind the scarf.

Dance with Diversity
This familiar favourite will showcase the cultural diversity of the region through dance.  A collection of local dancers will be performing a variety of traditional dance routines alongside a professional dancer from Melbourne.

Activities & Workshops
Hours of creative fun will follow performances, with henna tattooing, ‘scarf selfies”, art activities, origami and more to amuse big and little people alike!

Craft Market
A unique variety of local produce and craft will be on sale from 3.30-5.30pm.

Taste of the World Buffet
A rare opportunity to sample a variety of authentic international cuisine will be served after the performance programme.

All activities are FREE but tickets are limited.  Collect your tickets from Horsham Town Hall Box Office, HRCC Civic Centre, Horsham Visitor Information Centre and Horsham Library.
